2024.10.2 - 10.6 攝影個展
Solo exhibition at Parallel Space, Hong Kong

The relationship between the object and the viewer—whether through the camera or the viewer's eyes—is constantly changing. When gazing at a subject, the viewer's position is fixed, much like watching a movie in a theater. Within a specific frame, the visual narrative unfolds. However, as the frame shifts, it creates different viewing angles, causing the static setting to transform within the composition until a particular angle captures the viewer's attention. This interaction highlights the inherent contradiction between transience and the act of gazing. In this exhibition, the printed medium serves to establish a setting that encourages viewing from a moving perspective.

Against the backdrop of Hong Kong’s constantly evolving urban landscape, the presence of bamboo scaffolding symbolizes transition with a poetic quality. The melancholy hidden behind this vague curtain invites imagination and evokes a sense of disorientation. I view this exhibition as an opportunity to reflect on photography and to experiment. Unlike images displayed on a screen, various factors influence the viewing experience here. I invite you to enjoy and explore the settings within this two-story space and to form your own unique viewing experience!
