The Museo dell'Ara Pacis in Rome, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Richard Meier, opened in 2006. It marked the first work of modern architecture built in Rome's historic center since the 1930s. The museum was constructed to house the ancient Ara Pacis Augustae (Altar of Augustan Peace). I captured this grand space filled with light during my visit in April 2025.
